Rhonda J. Pennington, 62, of Sabinal died on June 13, 2016, at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. There will be a potluck supper in celebration of her life for friends and family on June 25 at noon at Dedo Colvin’s house in Sabinal. In lieu of cut flowers, the family requests live plants be placed in one’s yard, home, or garden as a living memory. Pennington was born on Aug. 28, 1953, in Uvalde to Frankie (Baldwin) and Maurice Ogden. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one niece, Lacey Ogden. She is survived by two daughters, Mindi McCauley and husband, Terry, of Spring Branch and Marci Pennington of Sabinal; three grandchildren, Kolbey McCauley, Makenzie McCauley, and Carson Villasana; three sisters, Sissy Nelson and Dedo Colvin, both of Sabinal, and Sherry Brooks of Kermit; two brothers, Chuck Van Pelt of Sabinal, and Maurice “Mo” Ogden Jr. of Bandera; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date as well.
