Julio Cesar Santos, 49, of Uvalde died on Oct. 9, 2016, at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. He was born on March 1, 1967, in Melchor Múzquiz, Mexico, to Maria Anita (Palomares) and Juan Manuel Santos. He married Lorena Lara on June 25, 2005, in Uvalde. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, of Uvalde; parents; one daughter, Jennifer Martinez of San Antonio; three sons, Jesus Arturo Martinez, Robert Martinez, and Julio Cesar Santos Jr., all of Uvalde; one sister, Juana Elida Medina of Uvalde; five brothers, Arnulfo Santos of San Antonio, and Victor Manuel Santos, Oscar Santos, Javier Santos, and Enrique Santos, all of Uvalde; two grandchildren, Mia Martinez and Alice Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Santos was preceded in death by one nephew, Javier Antonio Hernandez, and mother-in-law, Cruzita Rodriguez. A rosary was recited on Monday and again on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass was held yesterday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Pallbearers were Jesus Arturo Martinez, Robert Martinez, Julio Cesar Santos Jr., Jennifer Martinez, Juan Manuel Santos, Oscar Jacobo Santos, Maritza Hernandez, Arnulfo Santos, Victor Manuel Santos, Oscar Santos, Javier Santos, and Enrique Santos.
