Laura Jean Foster Welch, 60, of Uvalde died on Nov. 11, 2016, at her residence. A viewing will be held today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rushing-Estes Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary followed at 2 p.m. by interment at Vance Cemetery. She was born on Oct. 16, 1956, in Bossier City, Louisiana to Wanda Jean (Smith) and Robert Harrison Foster. She married Fred Welch on Oct. 27, 1981, in Houston. She is survived by her husband, of Uvalde; one daughter, Jennifer Mosqueda and husband, John, of Uvalde; three sons, Daniel Jones and wife, Amber, of Lake Jackson, Freddy Welch Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Deer Park and Corey Welch of Houston; three sisters, Diane Peña of Austin, Lisa Oszart and husband, John, of Huffman, and Luanne Nye and husband, Chris, of Magnolia; three brothers, Robert Foster and wife, Susan, of Austin, Alan Foster and wife, Bonnie, of Humble, and Raymond Foster and wife, Ruth, of Kingwood; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
