Sharon Giffin Counselman, 70, of Sabinal died on Dec. 25, 2016, at Medina Regional Hospital in Hondo. A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. Interment will follow at Sabinal Cemetery. She was born on Jan. 11, 1946, in Uvalde to Estelle (Herring) and Willis Clark Giffin. She married the Rev. Robert L. Counselman on June 5, 1970, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, of Sabinal; two sons, George Don Counselman and wife, Holly, of Bremerton, Washington, and David Clark Giffin Counselman and wife, Marijane, of Texas; six grandchildren, Zachary Counselman, Bobby Counselman, David Counselman Jr., Sharon Counselman, Jessica Counselman, and Joseph Counselman; one step granddaughter, Brooke Counselman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
