Jose Alfonso Gonzalez, 69, of La Pryor died on Dec. 30, 2016, at Lost Pines Nursing and Rehab Center in Bastrop. He was born on Oct. 26, 1947, in La Pryor to Regina (Martinez) and Antonio P. Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother; two sisters, Maria N. Rodriguez of Austin and Alma Isabel Bonnet and husband, David, of La Pryor; one brother, Antonio Luis Gonzalez and wife, Denise, of La Pryor; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral mass was held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was an usher for many years. Interment followed in La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers were Antonio D. Gonzalez IV, Nestor Rodriguez III, Berardo Rodriguez, David Bonnet, Ricky Najera and Antonio L. Gonzalez III. Honorary pallbearers were David Hall, Ryan Rodriguez and Jonathon Rodriguez.
