Juan Francisco Salazar, 56, of Uvalde died on Jan. 3, 2017, at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes- Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born on Aug. 25, 1960, in Libertyville, Illinois, to Consuelo (Valle) and Vicente Salazar. The family says he enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, and the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his mother, of Uvalde; one daughter, April Salazar and husband, Luis Enrique Robles III, of Gainesville; four sons, Rocky Salazar and wife, Allyson, Juan Francisco ‘’JJ’’ Salazar, and Elijah Salazar, all of Gainesville, and Juan Carlos ‘’Johnny’’ Jimenez and partner, Nicole Perez, of Uvalde; two sisters, Irma Velos and husband, Raymond, and Blanca Martinez and husband, Ezequiel, both of Uvalde; two brothers, Vincent Salazar Jr. and wife, Alma, and Abel Salazar, both of Uvalde; 19 grandchildren, Reyna Isabel Salazar, Rocky Renee Salazar, Felicity Summer Salazar, Julyssa Monique Retana, Alyssa Rufina Salazar, Maximillian Alexander Salazar, Bella Sophia Salazar, Izaiah Daniel Cardenas, Enzo Solomon Salazar, Gisel M. Salazar, Mia K. Salazar, Ariel L. Salazar, Anthony Salazar, Noah C. Salazar, Daniel R. Salazar, Luis E. Robles Jr., Luciano M. Robles, Gianna B. Robles, and Juan Carlos Jimenez Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and one granddaughter, Rebecca Mercedes Salazar.
