Jesus I. Ramos Sr.

Jesus I. ‘’Chino’’ Ramos Sr., 62, of Uvalde died on Feb. 10, 2017, at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 27, 1954, in Uvalde to Juanita (Ibarra) and Juan Ramos.

He married San Juana Luna on April 30, 1977, in Batesville.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, of Uvalde; mother; two daughters, Roxanne Ramos and companion, Jaime Rodriguez, and Patricia Ramos and companion, Jose A. Trevino Sr., all of Uvalde; two sons, Jesus Ramos Jr. of San Antonio and Johnny Lee Ramos and companion, Amy Long, of Uvalde; six sisters, Rosa Robles and husband, Santos, Margarita Vasquez, and Andrea Ramos and husband, Juan, all of Uvalde, Maria Ramos of Florida, Yolanda Briones of Lubbock and Tina Hudson of Austin; four brothers, Roy Ramos and wife, Netta, of Peoria, Illinois, Juan Ramos and wife, Teresita of Fort Worth, Rolando Ramos and wife, Maria, and Jose Ramos and wife, Gloria, all of Uvalde; eight grandchildren, Dalisha Rodriguez, Joshua Rodriguez, Dalilah Rodriguez, Malaki Lara, Jermiah Trevino, Jocelynn Rodriguez, Adalynn Trevino, and Jose Trevino Jr.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ramos was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Dora Elia Ramos; and two nephews, Raul Vasquez Jr. and Michael Robles.

A rosary was recited on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass was held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jonathon Edison, Abel Vasquez Jr., Armando Perez, Joshua Rodriguez, Raul Vasquez III, Marco Ramos, John Michael Ramos, and Chris Garcia.
