Larka Kaye (Smallwood) Hundley, age 58 of LaCoste, Texas passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in Devine, Texas. She was born in Uvalde. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larkin M. and Erma Y. Smallwood. She is survived by her husband, James Lee Hundley of LaCoste; stepdaughters, Sarah O’ Donoghue of Hawaii, Lauren Hundley of California, step-son Jared Hundley of Texas; sister, Jean Anne Buffington and Richard Heller of Garden Ridge, Texas; nieces, Bonnie Elizabeth Coyle, husband John, daughters, Elizabeth and Emmamarie; Alice Anne Bruni, husband Robert Jr., sons, Justin and Travis Bruni, all of San Antonio, Texas. Larka was a graduate of Alamo Heights High School and studied music at Trinity University, where she excelled in piano. She is registered as a both a Daughter of the Republic of Texas and of the American Revolution. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in LaCoste. Services will conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers it is asked that donations be made to the LaCoste Garden Club, in Larka’s name, P.O. Box 478, LaCoste, TX, 78039.
