Margarito G. Gomez, 69, of Uvalde died on March 31, 2017, at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1947, in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico to Vicenta (Gonzales) and Bernabe Gomez. He married Elia Muniz on Aug. 6, 1969, in Eagle Pass. He is survived by his wife of 47 years; two daughters, Lupita Flores and husband, Jesse, of Uvalde, and Patty Maltos and husband, Angel, of San Antonio; three sisters, Amelia Munoz of Evanston, Illinois, and Carmela Vega and Isabel Patino, both of Mexico; two brothers, Jose Gomez of Evanston, Illinois, and Adolfo Gomez of Mexico; three grandchildren, Jacob Margarito Flores, Ivan Angel Maltos, and Hugo Patrick Maltos; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gomez was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Paula Delgado; one brother, Pedro Gomez; and one granddaughter, Deminika Guadalupe Flores. A funeral mass was held yesterday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jesse M.
