Manuel Zaragoza Najera, 70, of Uvalde died on May 21, 2016, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Illinois. A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born on July 30, 1945, in La Pryor to Gravela (Flores) and Zaragoza G. Najera. He is survived by one daughter, Jeannette N. Canales of Waukegan, Illinois; two sisters, Esperanza Velasquez of Reno, Nevada, and Rosa Luna of Texas; one brother, Zaragoza Najera Jr. of La Pryor; two grandchildren, Obed Acosta and Jaqueline Zavala; two great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Acosta and Angelina Acosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Geneva Najera; one sister, Consuelo N. Flores; and one brother, Ruben Najera. Pallbearers will be Fernando Zavala, Jesse Flores Jr., Andrew Najera, Anthony Najera and Juan Zamarripa.
