Juan Antonio Silva, 72, of Sabinal died on Aug. 3, 2016, at his residence. A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal, with interment to follow at Sabinal Cemetery. He was born on July 14, 1944, in Devine to Guadalupe (Hererra) and Juan Alberto Silva. He is survived by three daughters, Juventina S. Capistrano, and Josefina Silva, both of Beaumont, and Diana Silva of Dallas; seven sons, John A. Silva Jr., Jaime Silva, and Jeff Silva, all of Sabinal, Javier Silva and Jacob Silva, both of Uvalde, Joel Silva of Keene, and Julian Silva of Delavan, Illinois; three sisters, Odilia S. Arredondo and Gloria Silva, both of Uvalde, and Yolanda Sanchez of Elgin, Illinois; one brother, David Silva of Pingree Grove, Illinois; 35 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Silva was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Juan Alberto Silva Jr. Pallbearers will be Lalo Ramirez, Javier Silva Jr., Jacob Silva Jr., Jonathon Silva, John Silva Jr., Ceasar Chavez, Jeff Silva Jr., and Trey Johnson.
