Mary Lou Gibson, 87, of Uvalde died on Sept. 19, 2016, at her residence. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Uvalde Cemetery. She was born on Aug. 10, 1929, in Burnet to Hazel (Howell) and Lloyd Fry. She married Robert Lee Gibson Jr. on Oct. 14, 1946, in Uvalde. The family says Gibson retired from Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District after serving as the first secretary at Dalton School. She then worked at Uvalde Junior High School (now Morales Junior High School) and later became secretary for the superintendent of schools. She later worked as a secretary for the Getty St. Church of Christ for two years before returning to Uvalde Junior High School as a secretary. She was an honorary member of Delta Kappa Gamma. According to the family, “Honey” will be missed by many; they said she was a Godly servant with a heart of gold. Gibson is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, of Uvalde; two daughters, Sharon Snow and Karen Tidwell, both of Uvalde; one brother, Haldon Fry of Uvalde; six grandchildren, Cindy Motley and husband, Jeff, Christy Price and husband, David, Everett Ogburn and wife, Nicole, Glenda Snow, Rollie Snow and wife, Karyn, and Randy Snow; 10 great-grandchildren, Jeyson Price, Kaili Price, Trinity Ogburn, Faith Ogburn, Peyton Motley, and Brianna Snow, Evelyn Snow, Morgan Snow, Allison Snow, and Rollie Snow; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Roland Fry; one sister, Blanche Foster; and one son-in-law, Roy Snow.
