
Ricardo “Richie” Lopez, 78, of Fort Hall, Idaho died on April 3, 2016, in Fort Hall, Idaho. He was born on March 3, 1938, in San Angelo to Guadalupe (Encina) and Marcelino Lopez. The family says while growing up, Lopez traveled to different states with his late brother, Marcelino Lopez, until he met the love of his life. He and Clarice Faulkner were married on April 13, 1961, in Fort Hall, Idaho. After their marriage, the couple moved to Fort Hall, Idaho, where Lopez built their family home. He resided there until his death. According to the family, he worked for Loveland Farms until five years ago when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The family says he loved to read Louis L’Amour books and put together jigsaw puzzles. He also loved the outdoors, spending time camping, fishing, farming, and gardening. According to the family, he especially enjoyed holding the reins as the family horseshoe champ, and more than anything, he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Arelia Lopez; one sister, Sylvia Alvarado; one brother, Marcelino Lopez; one son, Ricardo Lopez Jr.; and two daughters, Rebecca Flores and Kimberly Evening. He is survived by his loving wife; three sons, Anthony Samora, Carlos Lopez, and Guy Lopez; and three daughters, Lydia Lopez, Connie Lopez, and Brenda Lopez, all of Fort Hall, Idaho; one brother, Andy Lopez of Sabinal; three sisters, Delores Sauceda of Brownsville, and Alma Martinez and Hilda Flores, both of Sabinal; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. A viewing was held on Tuesday at the Lopez residence in Fort Hall, Idaho. A funeral service was held yesterday at 11 a.m. at The Good Shepard Mission in Fort Hall, Idaho.
