Nazeer Rahaman, 64, of Uvalde died on Nov. 12, 2016, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. He was born on Aug. 18, 1952, in Trinidad to Zobida (Mohammed) and Latiff Rahaman. He married Chantalle Gergeres on Dec. 29, 1982, in New York. Rahaman is survived by his wife, of Uvalde; four daughters, Malaia Rahaman of Uvalde, Christine Rahaman-Scott and husband, Justin, of San Antonio, Yasmine Abdul- Rahaman and husband, Khalil, of Los Angeles, California, and Leslie Rahaman of Brooklyn, New York; two sons, Justin Rahaman of San Antonio, and Andrew Rahaman and wife, Caroline, of Corpus Christi; one daughter-inlaw, Jessica Rahaman of New York; one brother, Ashmead Rahaman of Uvalde; four sisters, Rezika Rahaman and Fazia Rahaman, both of Queens, New York, Saddia Rahaman of Connecticut, and Shariza Rahaman of New York; five grandchildren, Nya Scott, Naima Abdul-Rahaman, Ella Rahaman, Jacob Rahaman, and Skylar Rahaman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Nazeer Rahaman Jr. A funeral service was held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Uvalde, followed by interment at Knippa Cemetery.
