Noel Eugene Scott, 82, of Uvalde died on Nov. 14, 2016, at Amistad Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A visitation will be held today at 3 p.m. at Rushing- Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, followed by interment at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Del Rio. He was born on Oct. 21, 1934, in Winfield, Kansas, to Margaret (Waldroupe) and Robert Scott. He married Janet Russell in 1977 in Bixby, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army for over 27 years, and the family says he was ranked Master Sergeant-E8 (MSG-E8) when he retired on June 1, 1979. He is survived by his wife of more than 39 years, of Uvalde; two sisters, Norma Troubough of Burden, Kansas, and Nova Buell and husband, Robert, of Willis; one son, Steven Scott of St. Petersburg, Florida; two daughters, Deborah Ragusa and husband, Donald, of Houston, and Julie Scott of Temple Terrace, Florida; three grandchildren, Carlie Ragusa, Maggie Ragusa, and Daniel Ragusa, all of Houston; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Colby Hill, Raul Hernandez, Marvin Hill, Johnny Moreno, David Barboza, and Wendall Johnson.
