Rosa Gonzalez Flores, 91, of Uvalde died on Dec. 13, 2016, at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Uvalde Cemetery. She was born on Nov. 9, 1925, in Montell to Maria (Carbajal) and Alejandro M. Gonzalez. She married John Harris Flores on Feb. 13, 1946, in Camp Wood. He preceded her in death in 1949. She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Esparza of Eagle Pass; one son, John Flores and wife, Lillian, of Uvalde; two brothers, Reyes C. Gonzalez and wife, Jackie, of South Carolina, and Jose Maria Gonzalez and wife, Estella, of Odessa; two sisters, Hortencia De Leon of Uvalde, and Sulema Hidalgo of Monahans; six grandchildren, John Flores, Jason Flores, Selina Flores and husband, Ramiro, Deborah Flores, Cristian Esparza and wife, Estelle, and Rodgerio X. Esparza and wife, Eleanor; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Flores was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Fernanda Hoffman; two brothers, Alejandro C. Gonzalez and Rodolfo Gonzalez; and one granddaughter, Marisa Esparza. Pallbearers will be John Flores, Jason Flores, Cristian Esparza, Eli Bravo, Samuel Bravo, and Joshua Flores. Honorary pallbearer will be Jordan Flores.
