
Pedro R. Belman, 94, of Uvalde died on Jan. 6, 2017, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. He was born on Oct. 19, 1922, in Juventino Rosas, Mexico, to Conita Rangel and Cenobio Belman. He is survived by two daughters, Esmeralda Gonzales and husband, Andy Sr., of Uvalde, and Sulema Luna and husband, Arturo, of Houston; four sons, Armando Belman and wife, Cheryl, of San Antonio, Pedro Belman Jr. and Jose Luis Belman and wife, Delicia, all of Uvalde, and Rogelio Belman and wife, Tami, of Midland; 16 grandchildren, Andy Gonzales Jr., Amanda Lara, Anna Lisa Khalaf, Jennifer Belman, Kristina Pichardo, Pedro Belman III, Orlando Belman, Denise Belman, Randy Belman, Veronica Luna, Joey Belman Jr., Jessica Belman, Jody Belman, Kendra Belman, Kaela Belman, and Roy Belman Jr.; and 11 great-grandchildren, Esteban Gonzales, Alejandro Gonzales, Ethan Lara, Aydan Lara, Bryson Belman, Carli Wagner, Dylan Rangel, Kaden Khalaf, Haley Ramirez, Samantha Pichardo and Dahlia Alvarez. Belman was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Ana Lisa Belman; and two sisters. A rosary was recited on Sunday and again on Monday at 7:30 p.m at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass was held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Andy Gonzales Jr., Pedro Belman III, Orlando Belman, Randy Belman, Joey Belman Jr. and Faustino Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers were Amanda Lara, Kristina Pichardo, Denise Belman and Veronica Luna.
