Clar Virginia Taylor Langford of Uvalde, better known as “Mammy,” became one of our heavenly treasures on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the age of 99. Mammy was a devoted Christian who exemplified love, kindness, and service to others. There are no words to describe the love she had for her family and how much she will be missed. Clar was born on Aug. 26, 1916, to Upson and Mary Lockhart Taylor. She was a graduate of Uvalde High School. On July 20, 1935, she married her husband of 64 years, Howard M. Langford. They continued to make Uvalde their home and raised three children: Howard T., Clarisie, and Patsie. Clar was employed by and retired from First State Bank of Uvalde. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Clar was preceded in death by her parents, Upson and Mary Taylor; her loving husband, Howard M. Langford; a beloved son, Howard Taylor Langford; two brothers, Kenneth Taylor and William Taylor; and two grandchildren, Jack Harrell and Becki Wiebush. Survivors include daughters: Clarisie Harrell and husband, Jimmy, of Junction, Patsie Wiebush and husband, Tuck, of Uvalde, daughter-in-law Marilyn Langford of Uvalde; eight grandchildren, H.T. Langford and wife, Julie, Lane Langford and wife, Jennifer, Landa Langford, Ginger Waites and husband, Kenny, Cindy Wimberley and husband, Ken, Vicki Sanchez and husband, Jim, Milt Wiebush and wife, Sherri, Alan Wiebush and wife, JoEllen; 19 great-grandchildren, Taylor Langford and wife, Valerie, Lawton Langford and wife, Selby, Nolan Langford, Brooks Langford, Whitley Langford, Tanner Langford, Cason Langford, Jamie Casarez and husband, Jesse, Lindsey Sweatt and husband, Tom, Kyle Wimberley, Kade Wimberley, Zachary Sanchez, Sara Sanchez, Emma Wiebush, Kaitlynn Wiebush, Madison Wiebush, Gretchen Baker, Bridget Baker, and Cooper Wiebush; two greatgreat-grandchildren, JJ Casarez and Jameis Casarez; three nieces, Yvonne Taylor Lambert, Billie Jean Rutledge, and Janet Jackson and husband, Jim; one nephew, Ray Langford and wife, Lynda; and cousins Otela Patterson and Dr. Paul Weyerts and wife, Beverly. The family wishes to thank their special friends: Martha Ibarra, Lupe Ramirez, Dr. Richard Lutton, and Dr. Harry Watkins, for their care, kindness, love, and compassion throughout the years. Gratitude is also extended to all of those who have shown their love, support, and prayers. Services were held yesterday, April 13, 2016, at 10 a.m at the Getty Street Church of Christ in Uvalde with interment at the Uvalde Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons: H.T. Langford, Lane Langford, Kenny Waites, Ken Wimberley, Jim Sanchez, Milt Wiebush, and Alan Wiebush.
