Juana Lopez Sanchez, 84, of Uvalde died on Feb. 7, 2017, at her residence. She was born on June 14, 1932, in Durango, Mexico, to Felicitas Martinez Trejo and Jose Paz Hernandez Lopez. She is survived by one daughter, Mayela Alvarado and husband, Robert, of Uvalde; three sons, Francisco Sanchez and wife, Maria De Los Angeles, and Jose Luis Sanchez and wife, Maria Del Rayo, all of Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, and Reguleo Sanchez and wife, Luz Maria, of Uvalde; two sisters, Santiaga Lopez of Monterrey, Mexico, and Maria Eugenia of Durango, Mexico; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose Guadalupe Vela Sanchez; one daughter, Alexandra Sanchez; one sister, Felipa Lopez; and one brother, Enrique Lopez. A rosary was recited on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A graveside service was held yesterday at Panteon Polvado Dos de Abril en el Municipio de Guadalupe Victoria, Durango, Mexico.
