Joshua Ray Ortegon, 31, of La Pryor died on April 13, 2016, in Beaumont. A rosary was recited yesterday and will be recited again today at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes- Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery. He was born on Feb. 19, 1985, in Crystal City to Magdalena R. Ortegon and John R. Ortegon, and father, Martin Quijano. He is survived by his parents; father, and wife, Monica, of La Pryor; two sons, Joshua Ray Ortegon Jr. and Jase Rayden Ortegon, of Uvalde; and companion, Ana A. Gutierrez, of Uvalde; paternal grandmother, Olga Ortegon of La Pryor; one sister, Jacklyn R. Ortegon of Uvalde; six brothers, John R. Ortegon and Jacob R. Ortegon of Uvalde, and Issac Bustamante, Martin Quijano Jr., Ismael Quijano and Joel Quijano, all of La Pryor; paternal grandfather, Joel Quijano Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jalyssa Raylynn Ortegon; maternal grandparents, Marcelino and Delfina Ramirez; paternal grandfather, Ramon Ortegon; and paternal grandmother, Francisa Quijano. Pallbearers will be Jailin Victorino, Jesus Victorino Jr., Jermayne Ortegon, John R. Ortegon Jr., Jose Ortegon, Carlos Ortegon, Jesus Ortegon, and Thomas Castillo. Honorary pallbearer will be Joshua Ray Ortegon Jr.
