Dan “Billy” W. Rose, 66, of Brackettville died on March 6, 2017, at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Feb. 19, 1951, in Alvin to Anne (Cico) and Anthony “Tony” Rose. He grew up in Brackettville and attended Sul Ross State University, as well as Texas A&M University at Galveston. He graduated with a degree in accounting. Rose worked for the majority of his career as a construction foreman, building roads in Texas. According to the family, he loved his family and took pride in being a good friend to coworkers and neighbors. Rose is survived by two sisters, Sis Hawkins of Uvalde, and Bo Hagler and husband, Rick, of Brackettville; two brothers, Tony Rose and wife, Cheryl, of Texas City, and Joe Rose and wife, Angela, of Montgomery; and 11 nieces and nephews, Katy Maulsby, Steven Hagler, Jay Hawkins, Katy Monson, Will Hawkins, Michael Rose, Jamie Hawkins Kirkham, Chelsea Rose, Chloe Rose, Bailey Rose, and Levi Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
