Louise R. Castillo, 85, of La Pryor died on April 2, 2017, at Methodist Texsan Hospital in San Antonio. A rosary will be recited today and again tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery. She was born on Aug. 19, 1931, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Savina (Gomez) and Benjamin Rosales. She married Pete Castillo on Jan. 7, 1950, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, of La Pryor; five daughters, Rosa Quijano and husband, Jesus, and Mary Louise Saldivar, all of La Pryor, Frances Perez and husband, Cresencio, of Marion, Savina Melendrez and husband, Florencio, and Pauline Castillo, all of La Pryor; three sons, Jose Manuel Castillo and wife, Norma, of San Antonio, Pedro Castillo Jr. of La Pryor, and Paul Castillo and wife, Mary Lou, of Seguin; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 13 great-greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Castillo was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Nellie Galvan, Mary Schuessler, and Rosa Prieto; four brothers, Joe Rosales, Manuel Rosales, Ben Rosales, and Leon Rosales; and one great-granddaughter, Elyssandra Quijano. Pallbearers will be Jose Noel Quijano, Jose Gabriel Castillo, Zaragoza Perez, Pete Saldivar III, Jeremy Martinez, Carlos Gonzales, Christopher Gonzales and Miguel Castillo. Honorary pallbearer will be Theron Greene.
