Jose Luis Medina, 77, of Sabinal died on April 18, 2017, at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. He was born on Oct. 8, 1939, in D’Hanis to Felis (Ybarra) and Juan Antonio Medina. He is survived by three daughters, Martha Moreno and husband, Richard, of Sabinal, Enedina Neely of Kerrville, and Bertha Reddick of Sabinal; four sons, Jose Luis Medina Jr. and wife, Connie, of Uvalde, Juan Medina and wife, Diana, Andres Medina, and Jimmy Medina and wife, Susie, all of Sabinal; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Celia Castillo; and one grandson William L. Reddick. A rosary was recited on Thursday at 7:20 p.m. at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal. A funeral mass was held on Friday, April 21, 2017, at 3 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal, followed by interment at Sabinal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ricky Moreno, Ricky Moreno Jr., Matthew Medina, Shane Medina, Nick Moreno, Randy Moreno, Diego Medina, and James Reddick.
