Jesusita C. Vasquez, 66, of Uvalde died on April 18, 2017, at the Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in Westover Hills. She was born on Oct. 29, 1950, to Maria (Rodriguez) and Victoriano Canales. She is survived by her companion, Jenaro B. Cruz, of Uvalde; one daughter, Ana Beltz and husband, Ronald Beltz Sr., of Uvalde; one son Estevan Vasquez Jr. and wife, Corina Charles, of Uvalde; three sisters, Maria Aguero of Uvalde, Josie Leivas of Dimmit, and Micaela Peña of Pecos;, three brothers, Eddie Canales, Victor Canales, and Jerry Canales, all of Uvalde; nine grandchildren, Estevan Vasquez III, Damien Vasquez, Genevive Vasquez, Jesus Vasquez, Novela Vasquez, Ronald Beltz Jr., Crystal Beltz, Christopher Beltz, and Lilly Beltz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Estevan Vasquez; one grandson, Bobby H. Beltz; and one brother, Ricardo Canales A rosary was recited on Thursday and again on Friday at 7 p.m. at Rushing Estes Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass was held yesterday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Canales, Eddie Canales, Stevie Vasquez, Ronald ‘’Bug’’ Beltz Jr., Christopher Fifer Beltz, and Eduardo Canales Jr.
