Bailey Burbon Anderson, Aug. 27, 1933 – May 6, 2017. Our sweet husband, father and grandfather Bailey Anderson found his perfect peace in Heaven on May 6, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Richmond, Texas on Aug. 27, 1933, to Arnett and Nellie May Anderson, graduated from Lamar High School in 1951, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953. He served on the Richmond Police Department, and was chief from 1959-64. Bailey spent most of his career working for the Texas Dept. of Mental Health and Mental Retardation at Richmond and San Angelo State Schools. He received a bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University in 1983, and retired from the state in 1994. Bailey met and married Kay Allen in 1972, while working at Richmond State School. They had a very active life together in San Angelo, where they were faithful members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. He and Kay retired to Leakey, Texas, in 1998. They are members of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Uvalde and have been active members of the Friends of the Library for the Real County Public Library. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Bailey is survived by his wife, Kay; their daughter, Sheri, and son-in-law, Clark Harmonson; sons, Keith and Scott Anderson; grandchildren Todd, Carl, and Emily Anderson, and Clayton and Claire Harmonson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition, Dr. Michael Grocki and his staff, Dr. Bradley Miller, Tricia Huffmon, for her care and dedication to Bailey, and the staff of Uvalde Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 343 N. Getty St., Uvalde, Texas.
