Charlotte Helga Doris (Hofman) Hicks, 78, of Fredericksburg died on June 17, 2017, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fredericksburg. She was born on Dec. 7, 1938, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, to Sophie Anna Elise (Collmann) and Otto Hofmann. She married Grady Moody Hicks of Uvalde on July 4, 1956, in Hanau am Main, Germany. She is survived by four sons, Thomas Hicks of Kerrville, and Kim Hicks, Alan Hicks and Mike Hicks, all of Fredericksburg; one adopted daughter, Heidi Brewer of Bethany, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her exhusband; and one sister. Cremation was under the direction of Schaetter’s Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde.
