Rosa E. Avalos, 65, of Uvalde died on May 23, 2016, in San Antonio. A mass of resurrection will be held today at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was born on Aug. 23, 1950, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Rosa (Avalos) and Genaro Guerrero. She is survived by her husband, Enrique Avalos Sr; one son: Enrique Avalos Jr.; and one sister, Angelica Guerrero, all of Uvalde; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Esmeralda “Esmi” Avalos. A visitation was held yesterday from 1-9 p.m., and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
