Charles Allen Sweeten, 88, of Jacksboro died on Dec. 31, 2016, in Jacksboro. He was born on Dec. 10, 1928, in Barksdale to Norah (Wall) and Charles William Sweeten. He was a veteran, having served in the U. S. Air Force. The family says he taught school in locations across Texas, including Uvalde, as well as being a preacher in Texas and Colorado; he spent his life ministering to others. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julienne Sweeten; one sister; and three brothers. He is survived by three sons, Jeff Sweeten, Robert Sweeten, and Rick Sweeten; and two daughters, Diana Haller and Robin Gamble, all of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A celebration of life was held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Hill Country Church of Christ in Camp Wood.
